Writing

From handwriting to personal stories to persuasive writing, learn more about effective teaching strategies and ways to encourage kids to write every day. Developing good writing skills can also strengthen vocabulary, comprehension, and spelling skills. The Common Core State Standards support writing across the curriculum, with practice in narrative, persuasive, and informative/explanatory writing. To see examples of real writing from real kids, pre-K to grade 3, visit our Looking at Writing section.
