How are background knowledge and vocabulary related?

Since many children with dyslexia have general difficulties with oral language, teaching background knowledge and vocabulary is highly important. Vocabulary and background knowledge are highly correlated and linked to comprehension.

Dr. Jack Fletcher is the Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen Distinguished University Professor of Psychology at the University of Houston.
