Monster Madness

Some monsters seem scary, some sympathetic, while others can only be described as supremely silly. Whether they’re hiding under the bed, or going bump in the night, monsters may be all around! Get crazy with some monster madness using this list of recommended books for children ages 0-9.

Sy Montgomery

The Boston Globe once described Sy Montgomery as “part Indiana Jones and part Emily Dickinson” in recognition of her adventurous spirit and passionate voice as a writer. She is a naturalist, devoted conservationist, author, documentary scriptwriter, and radio commentator who writes for both children and adults. Among her award-winning books are Encantado: Pink Dolphin of the Amazon, Search for the Golden Moon Bear, and Spell of the Tiger — which was made into in a National Geographic television documentary that Sy scripted and narrated.

More Animals All Around

Take a look around! You see birds, insects, dogs and other animals in cities, in the country, by and in the sea. Some are seen at night, others during the day. Some are small, others are huge, and some may even need your help. And some you’ll only see in a zoo or in an aquarium. But use your eyes and your ears to listen and see what animals may live near your home!
