Sally J. Pla

Children's Author

Sally J. Pla writes books for young people. Sally is an advocate for neurodiversity and autism acceptance — her stories feature characters who think about the world a bit differently. She once heard someone describe autism as “not a spectrum, so much as a constellation” and says, “we are all stars shining with different lights.” Sally also runs A Novel Mind (opens in a new window), a site about mental health and neurodiversity in children’s literature. “I hope my books will make you laugh, and also feel little heart-pangs of recognition about everything we have in common, being, you know, human and all.”
