Stage One of a Journey: Separation
A vapor of fog veils the garden in bloom. Darkness, still fading, will soon disappear. Peering out the window with soft silken drapes, I watch the morning creep over the lawn. The barnyard is glowing as night disappears and welcomes the morning.
What more can I ask? I love where I live, and this life has a charm. Each glorious morning gives birth to a day full of happiness, joy, and love. I wish I did not have to leave.
But what can I do? My bags are packed, my tickets bought, and my mission clear. Whatever my plans and wishes, I can never stay. My family is up and it is time to go now. I hug each one in the fresh morning mist with the sunrise aglow. This is my final view of my beloved homeland.
As the train rolls along, the whistle blows and the sky is dark with smoke. The old wheels are screeching, "Bring me back! Bring me back!" I am longing for home but I cannot stay.
