Reading Rockets offers a wealth of reading strategies, lessons, and activities designed to help young children learn how to read and read better. Our reading resources assist parents, teachers, and other educators in helping struggling readers build fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
 

Our Shows on PBS

Broadcast Schedule

Now available! Our newest show, Toddling Toward Reading, looks at what it takes to give our preschoolers the early literacy skills they need to become successful readers. Check below for broadcast dates and times.

Reading Rockets' television programs will be broadcast by public television stations on the dates and times listed below. The shows are Launching Young Readers (LYR), Reading Rocks!, Empowering Parents, Becoming Bilingual, Reading and the Brain, A Chance to Read, Toddling Toward Reading, and A Tale of Two Schools.

This schedule is updated weekly. Please check your local newspaper or TV listings for the most accurate dates and times. Teachers and other educators are welcome to videotape the programs as they air and use the tapes for educational purposes for one year (off-air school record rights).

Programs produced by Reading Rockets are also available for purchase as videos or DVDs. In addition, many of our programs can be viewed online for free through video streaming.

For stations whose broadcast areas cover more than one time zone, only the easternmost time is listed here.
