Amazon's 100 Children's Books Every Kid (and Grown-Up!) Should Read

There are some children's books that are simply so classic and so illuminating that anyone and everyone would benefit from having read them. Today, the book editors at Amazon.com released their selection of 100 youngsters' books that everyone ought to read in his or her lifetime. The list includes both old favorites like Charlotte's Web by E.B. White and Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder as well as more recent bestsellers like Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Wimpy Kid and R. J. Palacio's Wonder. A good number of picture books, like Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Judi Barrett‘s Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs made the list — and so did many chapter books like Madeleine L’Engle's A Wrinkle in Time and Jack London's Call of the Wild.
