A new film makes the case that dyslexia may cause difficulties in reading, but it doesn't cause difficulties in broader learning. In some cases, it goes so far as to suggest, the condition may even be a blessing in a very good, childhood-long disguise. "I really felt like people understand that dyslexia is a struggle, but they don't understand the strengths, and that it isn't an academic death sentence," said James Redford, director of "The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia," broadcast on HBO. Redford's father is the famous Robert, but more importantly in this context, his son, Dylan, is dyslexic.
