Parents as Teachers Receives $3 Million Federal Literacy Grant

Parents as Teachers' St. Louis-based national office has received a $3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Innovative Approaches to Literacy Program. The funding will go toward early childhood literacy programs for 2,000 families in select states. The grant will allow 60 Parents as Teachers affiliates to involve young children and their parents in literacy-focused activities designed to hone children's literacy skills.
