Little Free Library Encourages Reading, Literacy
WECT TV (Wilmington, NC)
A simple concept called the Little Free Library is taking off across the country, promoting the love of reading and literacy. The Little Free Library is a nationwide program. One is located in Keziah Park, just a page turn away from the Harper Library, and there is another one in Ocean Isle. Over 1,000 Little Free libraries exist worldwide. The house is home to books. "The way it works is, obviously, you take a book and leave a book," said Beth Baldiga. "It's a sharing library. So what you do is come look at the books, and if you like a book, you take it. You can read it and leave notes in the book, and tell the story of why you liked it."
