Christina Cipriano, PhD: New Research Studies on SEL from the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence

Dr. Cipriano talks about several studies she and her colleagues are working on to more deeply understand the importance of SEL on all students, including those with disabilities and racial and ethnic backgrounds, and how creating systematic frameworks and observation checklists for SEL can help schools across the country and the word meet their accountability mandates and improve teacher SEL pedagogy.

Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology

Dr. Cipriano is an Applied Developmental and Educational Psychologist, and Director of the Education Collaboratory at Yale. Her research focuses on the role of social and emotional learning (SEL) in the promotion of pathways to optimal developmental outcomes for traditionally marginalized student and teacher populations.
