Winning Entry
Bert & I
Frank B.
Midlothian, VA
My name is Frank and I wish I had a cool cat named Bert.
Bert would be fireball-orange with two white stripes on his rear-end.
He would have sea-blue eyes that glisten in the moonlight!
In the morning, we would help ourselves to a bowl of cookie crisps and a large glass of orange juice.
When I sent to school, he would meow bye to me.
But the best part of Bert would be his secret life!
Bert would be my pet when I'm home, and a secret agent while I'm away.
He would drive an apple green sportster with a double grey stripe down the middle and a lightning bolt over the rear tire.
The headlights would be as bright as the sun. They would blind you even if you're wearing protective goggles.
He could jump the Grand Canyon with a root beer in one hand and a bowl of tuna fish in the other.
Bert would drive the ol' sportster gleefully because it would remind him of racing through Tokyo where he met his arch-enemy, Bunny.
His evil nemesis would wear an old tattered ninja suit.
Bunny would also have a scar on his left cheek and a tattoo on his right leg of the moon with a sword slashing through it.
Bert and Bunny would fight the most idiotic fights in history!
They would fight over whose wife is the best cook and whose son has the best hairstyle.
They would fight with slingshots and marbles.
Unfortunately, neither of them would ever hit their mark because they both have poor hand-eye coordination.
At the end of the day, when Bert and Bunny are done battling, Bert would wait for me on the front porch.
We would go inside the house and watch TV and eat Lays Sour Cream and Onion potato chips.
That is what life would be like for Bert and I.
